You awaken having had a series of odd dreams last night. You feel wide awake this morning, your brain alive and awake. But your thoughts keep drifting to someone in particular....]

Who wouldn't be? His Professor Challenger stories were so popular that he resorted to throwing the titular character off a waterfall in order to end the series, and yet he still found himself returning to write more after the fans' outcry over the subject.

[ yeeeep. not uncoiling just yet, though his tone is unusually soft when he speaks again. ]

He's a professor at a small university. Sort of the ring leader of a massive crime organization that involved all of England. He's Sherlock's arch nemesis even though he only directly shows up in one story...

Just the Final Problem, where he and Sherlock Holmes fall over Reichenbach Falls locked in combat..... [a little weakly] to end the series... though it picked back up not too long ago...

[ switching from closed to agitated body language now, clearly not not sure what to think about all this. ]

The exact circumstances aren't exactly there because Watson was sent away on a lark... But he goes back and finds a violent struggle and no footprints leading away.

Moriarty dies... um, later it's just some big ploy to drive out the last of Moriarty's henchmen, requiring even Watson to be deceived in order to work.

[ silent and tense for a moment. then - he abruptly throws his head back and laughs. ]
