[The morning clicks over.

You awaken having had a series of odd dreams last night. You feel wide awake this morning, your brain alive and awake. But your thoughts keep drifting to someone in particular....]

[Getting that omelet cooking then. It's probably starting to smell REALLY GOOD in here. Leaves the pan down and fetching another to start the sausage at the same time.]

There's not a bit of evidence for that. [A long sideways glance, considering thwapping your hand with a spoon.] How'd you end up in New York anyway?

[soul_sister]

[She opens her mouth and just lets go whatever she was going to say with a sideways glance.]

Do you know how to make French toast?

[beeductionist]

[ smart girl. He looks back at her. ]

I cannot. Why can't you stay in one place?

[soul_sister]

[Dammit. .... ..... ... WELL IT INVOLVES EGGS. It can't be too hard.]

I'm looking for someone important, and I don't really have a lot of time left to find him.

Which one of you is dying?

[soul_sister]

[The egg cracks in her hands, making a goopy mess all over the counter.]

[ sweeps his gaze up and down, taking in her reaction ]

How long do you have left then?

[soul_sister]

[I'm just going to work on cleaning this u... noooo, actually I'm going to take the bacon off of the burner before it REALLY burns.

By the time she's done with that flurry of activity, the reply is a pretty practiced casual.]

Don't get too excited, you can't get rid of me that easy.

Alas, dead people only excite me when they've been murdered.

You know, that's creepy any way you look at it.

[ a shrug ]

It is, however, the truth.

[Sighs and takes the sausage off.]

Then I'm hoping we get out of here before some idiot can make you some entertainment.

That's not an actual driving motivation right?

[Considers the toast and... ... ... you know what, we're going to make an egg sandwich and call it French.]

To be engaged and entertained, yes. Generally this does not involve murder.

Why is that general? This isn't some bizarre plot twist where you're Moriarty in your off days, right?

[beeductionist]

[ snorts ]

Hardly. Murder is incidental to the mental stimulation that cases provide. Albeit a bloody good source of motivation to catch the criminal and bring him or her to justice.

[soul_sister]

[Lets out a breath.] Well! Good!

[Drops a cheesewheel, a knife and a grater in front of you.]

[ ... but grating cheese is hard ... fine, getting to work on it. ]
