[The morning clicks over.

You awaken having had a series of odd dreams last night. You feel wide awake this morning, your brain alive and awake. But your thoughts keep drifting to someone in particular....]

Hey, you're the one with the cool new pet. Plus, this girl said she'd have dinner with me, so that's something.

Huh? --No, it's not like that! I mean, I dreamed about her.

I'm entirely too young to be hearing about that.

Wh-what!? H-hey! Don't say that kind of stuff, you're gonna get me in trouble! You didn't have any weird dreams last night?

Not the sort one has about young ladies one sees for dinner.

We were having dinner in the dream! So-- I just figured it'd be a good idea!

Have you plans?

[thisisace]

Well, if stuff happens like I dreamt, then it might mean something, right? Isn't that how dreams work?

[direstnews]

I suppose it depends upon the manner of dream.

[playfully(?) shoves him]

It wasn't that kind of dream!

[Laughs and takes a few quick steps away so that he doesn't lose his balance.]

What manner of dream was it then?

...Weird. Kind of--intense. Like, there were other parts too, like I was playing with that cat lady, and there was some armless thing wandering around too, but for this part, I had to tell her something...it was real important. But...I don't remember what it was. What if it was some sort of clue?

A creature without arms?

[thisisace]

Yeah. Going south, then it just disappeared.

[direstnews]

Did it look to have the form of a woman?

[thisisace]

It didn't not have the form of a woman... Is there some armless lady who was supposed to be walking around the courtyard?

What a remarkably apt question. Let's find out, shall we?

[And he starts to walk, a bit too quickly, toward the inn Shader's staying at.]

You know, me and Rosette, we had the same dream. You didn't dream about it too, did you?

I dreamt of a heartbeat. That I'd a mechanical device unlike any I own and the boy with pointed ears wished to use it, as well, and that Miss Watson taught me to play an instrument of brass upon the roof.

Huh...

Wait--a heartbeat, like...when we first showed up here?

I recall no heartbeat.

[Opens the door to the inn and heads on in.]

You didn't? When we got here-- When I got here, I was in this--nothing. All there was was this faint pulse, like a heartbeat. I followed it, and that's how I ended up here.

[direstnews]

I heard a mechanical noise, similar to what a clock might make.

[thisisace]

Huh...

[shakes his head, doesn't matter]

Anyway, you talked to the doc or the pointy-eared guy yet?
