[Day 2, Night - A House South of Town]

[Written into the ground alongside one of the houses to the south of town tonight are a series of strange letters, forming a rough circle near the wall. A figure of approximately Loki's build, not there during the day's exploration, leans against the wall at the corner. The door to the house is open.]

[Some hours after the sudden switch from day to night, Loki stands in front of the door, a candle before him, a kitchen knife in one hand and a spoon in the other. He checks the mirror set carefully in the darkness, nothing yet visible in its surface. Then he strikes the knife with the spoon's handle, and he holds his breath - and he waits.]

[ excellent. he moves up to crouch beside the torso. pulling out one of those clockwork tools he stole earlier and using it to poke the torso without touching it just yet. ]

[There's neither any reaction. Nor does your prodding examination reveal any hidden seams. It does sound... a little higher pitch of percussion, indicating something more dense within.]

[It seems to be at the very, very center of the chest.]

[ dropping to his hands and knees, examining the thing, looking for armholes or sockets or other ways in that don't require smashing it open ]

[Each of the sockets have bands almost the entire way around cuff, where something could hook in and slide along a predetermined range of motion. Beyond that, there's a steel plate, concave in design to accept a ball joint... you can see a little bit of a gap between it and the housing.]
