[So, after a hard morning of adventuring, our heroes are having a much needed rest back at the inns with their prizes. Some people may be busily chatting over the different robot parts that were found scattered across the city, but the turtles have bigger fish to fry.

Literally.

The kitchen of the Sword, Shield, and Spear is a flurry of activity and delicious smells in between Rapunzel flitting about and Mikey and Raph following after her to give basic instructions. The construction of pizza is an art after all.]

It's real easy! I mean—I don't get the dough, but the important thing to remember is dough, sauce, toppings. The dough's just to hold everything else together.

That seems like a huge oversight to me.

The city is primarily human, and humans do not like my kind.

[Something... shifts, in his expression. Something rather unchildlike.

[He tilts his head a bit, frowning]

They consider that a bad thing?

[her voice is practically dripping with disdain]

Oh, certainly. Humans and Elves believe themselves to be superior - they will not accept their blood being tainted by another's.

[... Why does this have to happen in every world ever.]

It all sounds very childish.

Childish, but many take it seriously. [something briefly crosses her face before it's gone] We are at least lucky in that we can pass as either race.

[He glances her over for a moment, curiously]

Mmm. I am usually mistaken as Elven, because of my height and fair skin.

Why not just live as an elf, then? Wouldn't it be easier?

Or at least safer?

[frowns at him]

Because I am not an Elf.

[He gives her another one of those odd, long looks, before just shrugging.]

It is a matter of pride. If you were told to live as something other than what you were, would you readily accept it, child?

I think I'd just have to endure it.

Because the list of things more important than my pride is just a bit too long to ignore.

[now it's her turn to laugh, but it's a weak sound]

It must be nice, to have such a list.

It wasn't very long ago at all, that I didn't.

[He sighs, some of the mirth slipping away.]

Things can change quickly, and when you least expect it.
