(no subject)

[So, after a hard morning of adventuring, our heroes are having a much needed rest back at the inns with their prizes. Some people may be busily chatting over the different robot parts that were found scattered across the city, but the turtles have bigger fish to fry.

Literally.

The kitchen of the Sword, Shield, and Spear is a flurry of activity and delicious smells in between Rapunzel flitting about and Mikey and Raph following after her to give basic instructions. The construction of pizza is an art after all.]

It's real easy! I mean—I don't get the dough, but the important thing to remember is dough, sauce, toppings. The dough's just to hold everything else together.

[Baking things with animal helpers is a surefire way to cheer up any Disney princess]

It sounds amazing from what they say, I can't wait to try it.
direstnews: (So shake him off)

[Watching you work.]

You have some skill in this endeavor. You've not made their pastry of dough and cheese before?
tonewlengths: (Tastes like childhood dreams)

[Shakes her head] I've made dough before, and sauces, but this is a completely new technique for me. It's fun!
direstnews: (And I'm ready to hope)

[Watches her work - and braces his hands against the counter to hop up and sit, feet dangling.]

What is it that's gone into the dough?
tonewlengths: (Demure)

[She is very good at this. And also some of that joy falters when Sherlock and Joan come in, uncomfortable but still smiling :) Smile through it :)]

It's not so much what goes into it, we didn't have any yeast so I had to make do with the flour, it's more the way it's prepared. It has to be rolled out flat and round, whereas with regular bread dough you'd want it to rise.
direstnews: (And I won't look back)

[Noted. And totally leaning in to try and prod at her dough to take her attention away from it.]

You press it flat to keep it down? Would it not be best to squeeze it more firmly, then?
tonewlengths: (Winning!)

[Yes good distractions are effective. Chuckles, stepping back.]

Mm, would you like to try? You've got to get all the air out, you want it to be a nice smooth mixture.
direstnews: (It doesn't mean much)

Grant me your cylinder of wood and I shall squash it thin as paper.
tonewlengths: (I'm so hot right now)

[personal profile] tonewlengths 2013-04-16 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Flips the rolling pin in her hand, holding it out to him]

Show me what you've got. Make sure to keep covering it in flour, or the dough will stick.
direstnews: (And I'm ready to hope)

[Takes his gloves off and sets them on the counter, then hops down and rolls up his sleeves. He takes the rolling pin and rubs it with flour.]

Like so?
tonewlengths: (Tastes like childhood dreams)

[personal profile] tonewlengths 2013-04-16 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Just like that.
direstnews: (I only hope that I won't disappoint you)

[personal profile] direstnews 2013-04-16 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
And then you merely press?

[Doing so! Probably getting it uneven at first.]
tonewlengths: (Demure)

[personal profile] tonewlengths 2013-04-16 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, make sure to smooth it all out.
