Day 1 Night

[ Over the murmur of conversations, explorations and violent attempts at escape, there comes a sound tick tick tick tick tick.............. CLICK.... The sky above snaps across the dome from blue to black... and everything goes dark.

A glow comes from the front door of each of the inns and one by one, you can see street lanterns begin to light up steadily past each of the gates.

The only flickering, organic light comes from above in the tower, spluttering high, high above everyone, through the slats of the closed shutters. After a moment, it's gone. ]

[ huh, that's not usually the reaction he gets to him deducing stuff ]

Yemen. Well, even a consulting detective can't be perfect. I can assure you that I have nothing to do with whomever has been dogging your steps.

Incredible and a little creepy.

I do seem to provoke that reaction.

[ offers his hand ]

Sherlock Holmes. Consulting detective, as previously stated, with the NYPD.

[... Ninja turtles and Sherlock Holmes? Takes his hand and gives it a firm, professional handshake.]

Elena Fisher, foreign correspondent—as previously deduced. ... So, NYPD? Not Scotland Yard?

[ a similar one in return ]

Previously, yes. Did you determine that based on my accent or familiarity with my fictional counterpart?
tearsinnajar: (in a room)

Fictional counterpart. I've been too many places in the world to assume an accent necessarily goes with place of residence.

[ an approving nod at that ]

An excellent observation. I assure you that I'm from the modern era, however, and that I neither smoke nor commonly wear any sort of hat. And you may have met my associate Ms. Watson already.
